Mothers, Technology, and Self-determination

Both the literature reviews below explore how mothers, internationally, use technology to support their own self-determination and agency (or not!). My book chapter explores how mothers garner different types of social support (informational, logistical, emotional, and appraisal) and how these practices align with aspects of self-determination theory. The research poster examines how technology can either enable or disable agency for mothers, particularly in the arenas of reproductive health, paid and unpaid labor, and self-expression.
