Dyadic Development’s Other Half: Exploring Experiences of Development Among Mothers of Young Children in Technologized Ecologies
My dissertation work, this qualitative phenomenological study explored how 13 mothers raising young children experienced their own development in the domains of learning, work, health, and engagement, and how their development was influenced by technology. I used a reflective lifeworld approach (Dahlberg H., et al., 2001) and Judy Wajcman’s (2004, 2010) feminist definition of technology. Data sources included: two semi-structured interviews, a demographic survey, participant photo elicitation images, and a (researcher) bridling journal.
